Indigenous peoples' profound relationship with the landscape is prominent in many cultures across the African continent. Local communities have built their common identity from the landscape by embracing many of the concepts found in indigenous knowledge. This knowledge is a significant resource and can contribute to the increased efficiency, effectiveness, and resilience in environmental planning and management and enable culturally expressive design solutions. AJLA invites the submission of articles relating to this theme, particularly landscape architecture's role in creating 'indigenous knowledge landscapes'.
